Niamh McKenna is an Interior Designer based in Galway City.

Niamh grew up in south county Dublin and completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at UCD. She then moved to Galway to complete a masters at NUIG, and fell in love with life in Galway city and there made her home. Science and Art were always her two loves, so after 10 years in a scientific field, and after having her first daughter in 2019, she left the corporate grind behind to fulfil her creative side and be more available to her family. In September 2020, Niamh set up NMcK Interior Design after working with her Estate Agent husband on some residential projects, and continues to work on residential projects in both the west and east of the country.

Niamh studied Interior Design with the IDAI, and also completed a certificate in Lighting Design at Griffith College Dublin. Niamh also briefly worked with EZ Living Furniture as an Interior Stylist.

Niamh brings her knowledge and interest in scientific fields into her projects where possible. She strives to make spaces that feel calm and harmonious, as well as feel joyful. Niamh loves playful interiors, and loves to play with colour, lighting, shapes and texture to create visually interesting spaces. She loves to mix old and new, and loves to find unique pieces that tell a story. Niamh will work with you to get to know how you live and help you create the home you’ve always dreamed of.

Niamh currently lives in Galway city with her husband, two young daughters, and Rupert the cockapoo.
